Complex Esports Security

In light of today's tragedy in Jacksonville, we feel the need to address the safety of our own events.

For those who have attended our LANs in the past, you have probably been aware of a security presence. We have always focused on keeping disagreements in-game and encouraged those involved to not let it escalate to a level where intervention is required. However, that isn't nearly enough to prevent what occurred today.

Moving forward, we will begin planning a detailed, upgraded security model to ensure that our events remain a safe and friendly environment for everyone. Unfortunately, this may make it necessary for us to burden our participants with actions such as security detail at the entrance of large events or restrictions of certain items. While this could be an inconvenience, we feel that the safety of all players and spectators should be, and will be, our number one priority.

Finally, we want to send our condolences to the friends and families of those injured or lost today in Florida. Incidents like this should never take place, and we must all do everything in our power to never let this happen again.
